CCD raids an established corporate entity in the banking and financial sector

The Sri Lanka Police re-affirmed its focused determination to the task of protecting intellectual property (IP) rights, when it carried out yet another copyright enforcement raid. This time, the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) raided an established corporate entity in the banking and financial sector, suspected of using pirated and unlicensed software The Raid took place in Colombo last week where the inspection and identification of suspected pirated software took over five hours. Thereafter, the police seized all the computers installed with the pirated software into Police Custody, and will be produced in Court as evidence.
