Customs Recordation
Sudath Perera Associates was instrumental in assisting the Sri Lanka Customs in establishing an Intellectual Property Branch within the Authority, dedicated exclusively to detection and seizure of counterfeit and pirated goods in violation of intellectual property rights. The firm handles recordation of registered trademarks with Sri Lanka Customs.
This helps expedite detection of shipments of counterfeit goods. On completion of recordation the Customs co-ordinates with the Sri Lanka Ports and other Authorities to prevent trading of counterfeit or pirated goods. The firm also works closely with the Customs Officers by providing timely information to take swift action against these infringers of IP rights.
