Nipuni is a Partner in the firm’s Corporate and Commercial Law department. She obtained her undergraduate law degree from the University of London (International) Programme (2008) and holds a Post-Attorney Advanced Diploma in Corporate Law from the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (Sri Lanka) as well as a Master of Science Degree in Law & Finance from Queen Mary, University of London (2015). She was called to the Bar in 2010 and is a member of the BASL. She is also a Solicitor of England & Wales (non-practising) since 2018.

Nipuni has extensive experience in corporate and commercial law matters (including FDI, regulatory & compliance matters, M&A, banking law and financial services), as well as contentious corporate litigation. She has played a key legal role in some of the most notable investments into Sri Lanka in recent years, including the establishment of Sri Lanka’s largest multiplex cinema (PVR Cinemas) and United Petroleum’s entry into the Sri Lankan retail fuel market. Additionally, she contributed as local legal counsel for an international team drafting the banking regulations for the Colombo Port City Special Economic Zone.
