E-ALERT: RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW IN SRI LANKA
Sri Lanka’s IP law makes significant advancements in 2021/2022. The Marrakesh Treaty to facilitate access to published works for persons who are blind, visually impaired, or otherwise print disabled was ratified by the government of Sri Lanka and provisions were included to the IP Act through an amendment in 2021 and fulfilling demands of industry stake holders’, provisions to enable the registration of Geographical Indications in Sri Lanka was included by another amendment to the IP Act in 2022.
